Missed out big time with Lockwood… great player and great coach… and went on to huge success with both Widnes and HKR

Only remember us struggling during his short spell as both player and coach.
Think we relied on someone like Hunslet or York surprisingly beating a rejuvenated Hull FC late in the season (all three going down in the end) to save us from relegation whilst he was here???? Was suppin in the Malt Shovel at the end of Broadway listening to the game on radio. Big relief.

Hull spent big that relegation year and nearly escaped and certainly improved from then on.
