Post subject:  Apologies, but thoughts on the Leigh game!

Dear all,

After having to complete the programme notes for the Saints game in the shadow of the news last Sunday, I now have the task of putting the notes together for next weeks Leigh game.

I know it's a bit tough atm, but, as JK says, we have to get on with it.

So, here are some starting points:
Pig in Hovercraft!
Tim Street!!!
The Hilton Park thrashing in SL!!!!!!!

TBH I have more poor memories against Leigh than good ones - I think they have had their share of moments against us.

I also remember Jiff going off with his head split open at HP and then coming back on with a turbon - tough 'nuggety' player that he was!

The old-timers may have a few more memories on this one.

As always - help much appreciated - and I know the column is appreciated by an audience of some sort! 8)

Ian Knott was a committed servant of both clubs wasnt he?

perhaps a feature on knotty? a kind of 'where are they now' kind of feature...it'd be great to hear how an ex player compares the early SL wildcats to the present day wildcats....

and of course, it'd be a bit of publicity for knotty who i still believe is struggling with his injury?

just a thought......

I can remember a game against Leigh, I think around 1993, at Belle Vue, Leigh were bottom, only won 1 or 2 games and we were doing ok, mid table'ish. We raced into an 8-0 lead, but lost 8-41. I seem to remember they beat us again about a month later.

I did the Ian Knott interview last year or the year before - in the Warrington programme. I may 'borrow' a couple of comments from that.

Cheers.
