So Monday morning my lad woke up. The first thing he wanted to know was the Trinity score. He is 9 now and death and the like are just really entering his consciousnes, we talked about Toppo and Adam when they died etc.... so explaining to him why the game didn't go ahead and the tragedy surrounding Leon felt relitively okay.

I explained as frankly as I was able, given what little I knew / know. I answered what questions I could .....How, where, who etc...........

and then the killer question.......

Were Wakey winning at the time dad?

Now he wasn't intending to be rude or insensitive, and neither am I in posting this, I apologies if my post has offended or upset anyone. I just felt my anecdote might bring a smile to peoples faces at a sad time.

I had never met Leon but reading about his love of the game then he would probably appreciate the sentiment.

I doubt we could find reason to be offended by the words of a young lad, he should not need to understand these things.

Give him a big hug from the Wildcats family.

It brought a slight grin to my face, remembering a few things my lad would say when around that age.
Impossible to be offended by an honest comment from a youngster.
As Al says, give him a hug.

God bless the boy and give him a hug. I was at the game and yes they were winning. Awful thing to happen to such a young man playing a sport he loved and played so well.

May his innocence remain for many years to come. Bless him!
