After watching the guys play and having a few beers with the boys the same topic always arises with numerous different preferences. So what i'd like to know is, imagine that that we are injury free, everyone is fully fit and ready to play and Dave Halley is still here, who is your prefereed 1 - 5 and why?

Then, again assuming everyone is injury free, who would be your 1 - 5 for the first game next season?

1. Blaymire
2. Halley
3. Gleeson
4. Atkins
5. George

Purely because they are all British.

My current 1 - 5 would be;

1. Blaymire
2. Blanch
3. Martin
4. Atkins
5. Halley

I think Peterson will probably prove to be a superb signing although i just haven't seen enough of him yet. Halley and Blanch both score tries for fun and i think Martin defensively has it over Gleeson at the minute.

For 2010 i'd like to see,

1. Blaymire
2. Peterson
3. Gleeson
4. Atkins
5. Halley

No issue with Peterson but surely you would prefer it to be George?

I would, but i think 2010 will be the season whereby he covers for injuries, then in 2011 he'd be in over Peterson. I think George has a very bright future but i'm just not so sure whether 2010 is too quick for him to be first choice

So you would prefer to lose two prospective top young Brits in favour of two foreigners  :?

That IMO is what is wrong with our game, too many people yearn for antipodeans rather than see our own blossom, and too many clubs bow to the pressure of the fans wanting foreign signings.

yes i would i dont care if they come from mars so long as they play well for wtrlfc
in my opinion whats wrong with the international game is not going to be resolved by issues at belle vue in next 3 to 5 years. answer me one then who would you have matt gidley or ryan atkins?

Ryan Atkins, Gidley is the better player but then he would be he is about 500 years old. Ryan if coached well and motivated could possibly become that good. I'd rather watch him develop than catch the tail end of an admitadly great players career. You could say the same about Drew, but we don't currently have a player who directly challenges him, where as Atkins is at least closing the gap.

ok fair point
my further point would be that in our current financial situation if we nurtured a really good one he would not at bv long, sad but true.
