Fifita changed the game in what was a monster spell they simply couldn’t handle him and it visibly lifted the team which is exactly what we pay him for and why we have supported him recently - he payed us back big style.
I'm not bagging Tom. I thought I made that clear by showing how the game can change your opinion of someone.
However, as you have brought it up.....
Tom's first try was just backing up someone else's break. Great try and if he wasn't there it wouldn't have been scored, but not all him.....but Hull KR's try came from him shouting out of the line, missing the interception, but then also missing the tackle and not tracking back either. The guy ran right at the gap he'd left behind.
He of course made up for it and he showed how good a player he is for those tries, but that performance is the difference between a really good player who will score loads of trys and be talked about on Sky.............and an England winger.
If he wants to play for England, which I think he is capable of, he needs to tighten up on that last 5% of his game.
Saying that, Hull KR kept opening us up on the other wing and I'm not sure why. It wasn't the winger as the overlap was created by the time it got to BJB. Lyne did some good cover tackling but I think it was more to do with their execution of the try that let them down. They'd done the hard bit to break us.
But again..........that is the difference between top 8 or 4 and bottom 4. Hull KR showed signs, but TJ playing for them on their left wing and they'd have got all three of those trys imho.
