Perhaps a bit rusty after having a week off, in can either boost or performance or hinder it, although the players know where they need to improve. First things stop looking to score on every set. Build the pressure, don't give teams easy yards or good field position. It'll take some great discipline to change how we've played all year knowing we had enough in the tank to beat most sides, but we won't have that luxury next week.

Tried too hard particularly in the first half but take nothing away from York- they are a very good side with some stand out players and well coached ( you know by that guy who according to the experts on here can't coach )
I reckon our next opponents will be no better than York.
We certainly need to improve though!

Yep...we should have been out of sight at half time but we were trying to score off every set.
I'm sure DP will have picked up on that and will calm them down for next week :thumb:

Well, we made very hard work of that one and tbf, York could certainly have won that game.
Terrible performance but, only the result matters.
The side should sit down and watch the GR and watch how Wigan played.
Rock solid defence, excellent discipline and no crazy offloads.
Our completion rate was just awful.

In the plus side, we got the win and it's Toulouse next weekend (probably Saturday)

Some grat performances Rodwell, Uele, McGilvey and Pratt were all superb but, we need to be better and more patient next week.

Well played York btw, they have improved massively and huge credit to Mash on that count.

Most enjoyable game of the season for me. Thought York’s middles were awesome - Thompson, Daley, Martin, Michael while he was on, all came to play aggressive and almost got us. Applegarth obviously knows us well and really rattled Jowitt and Lino. I’ve defended Lino a lot on here but thought his performance today was indefensible. Missed two face to face tackles, dropped a pass cold(ish), kicked poorly and his pass selection was the worst I’ve seen from a professional.

Thought Uele made a huge difference again. Pratt is the real deal. Pitts and Hood stood up too.

Psychology is obviously a massive part of RL and having beat them three times (twice at a canter) I reckon most of our lads thought they were already in the final. Liam Harris dropping that goal before half time might have been a good thing just to scare us into action.

I’m still confident for next week purely for the reason the lads will know they have to be brilliant to win.

We did look nervous throughout the game. York played well, but to be fair we bombed 3 tries in the first half without York impacting them.

There 13 was excellent all game, and they hot stuck in. We defended our line brilliantly in the second half. Their try was from a very poor missed tackle from Bowden.

Hoping for a Saturday match, hotel already booked in hope (live in Sheffield).

Also, Pratt was sensational!

Jeez that was nerve racking , hard earned isn't even the half of it , credit to York they were immense , best side we've played all season based on that performance .

At the end of the day we got it done , end of .

One game away from achieving all our objectives this season and I believe we will .

Up The Trin .

I don't really have a problem with the game.
York gave us a really good challenge and we found a way to win.

I thought we played with a lot more speed when moving the ball but each time someone fluffed their lines. It gave York a lot of the ball.
I thought our defense stood up well consider the amount of pressure we were under, though I couldn't see who let them through for the break on the right. Seemed pretty soft.

There was a period in the second half where they had 3 sets through drop outs and then we gave the ball up twice in our quarter. It seemed forever before we got the ball in a good position.
I also felt they rattled Doyle as well when they got away with nutting him.
It turned when Hood came back on and seemed to calm things down.

It will probably do us good to have a tough game so we are better prepared for the next game. We could have easily panicked but we kept our nerve.

Griffin unlikely to play so someone has to come in. Probably Boothroyd.

Not sure whether I'd play Trueman.
Lino did some good things but also went missing too though that reflects us not having enough ball.

Powell says in the post match interview that Vagana is the likely replacement for Griffin plus Belly told us that he had seen Boothroyd just before the game and he was limping quite badly ??
