in 2022... 37 is not young for a manager... in 1992 I was 32 when I got my first senior management role and things have even changed since then! He certainly seems to have worked an apprenticeship and is well respected.
I'm not saying he's the right man for the job (that's for others to decide) but lets debunk the age thing if he's good enough then he's good enough
As far as D T coaching Wakefield ,he was a legend at Wakefield and played at the highest level .With the team K T had he had cash to burn and I think with the players in that team a Wallace Arnold coach could have trained them .Andy Kelly was a crowd favourite when he played for Wakefield and was coaching when we were in Championship .P F was had all ready proved what a good Coach he was .If the Applegarth rummer is true ,it is a gamble that the club can not afford to take .I know 5 people who have bought season tickets for as long as me and are on about not getting one .
Won't stop me buying a ST, I'll go along and support whoever takes up the reins. I have read all this and another thread on this subject and it's apparent that nobody 'knows' anything about what the coaching set up was like so I'll trust that the club management have made the right decision not to re-instate WP . I'll also have to trust they make the right call re the coach . I'm just surprised they are prepared to take another gamble. I honestly thought they had another 'proven' SL coach lined up! We'll see.
I'm less bothered about the people named as the decision to appoint
They should open the job up to applicants, perform a rigorous recruitment process and then choose the right candidate. If that's MA then so be it......but let's do due diligence first.[/quote]
When I saw the op I assumed mark had got the job
I can see now he’s applied not already got the job
All the things I hear is that Marks being doing a great job The fact he’s applied is a really good thing, purely just to apply means he has self belief confidence he can do itand ambition among many other things
I don’t believe it possible for him to be ready for this at the mo Though
Agree with what u are saying re process

I heard it was an incorrect article from YP and all it really is, is that he's applied. .....which is great. But I haven't seen anything concrete to say that is the case. Have you? Or is it just wishful thinking?

Thinking about this a bit. Maybe Mark is the key to keeping some of the young talent as they have worked closely with him and he has developed them. He maybe key to Murphy staying or leaving, for example.
