I hope the concrete terracing blocks are going in next, this will change the whole look of the stand.
the netting would be for when the roof goes on wouldn't it?
I agree about the concrete terracing, once that goes on then the last two sections can be put in, i'd imagine.

50 k on them or 50 k on something more important would be my theory but I’m not talking for the club.
I have to say that is a matter of opinion and whilst fully appreciating your reply to my question Vasty, I believe they will look terrible right next to the shiny new East stand I fully accept that the funding isn't there to replace them, so has anyone considered cladding them over with polycarbonate sheeting or something similar, which could perhaps have murals/photo's of former players or something similar on them...surely this could be done for a few hundred quid and would freshen up the main entrance too ??

Obviously the 2 turnstiles at the front of the East Stand facing Doncaster road, will be shiny turnstiles, I’m not sure if they’ll be the swipe ticket type or a steward with a hand held reader. I’m sure the old turnstiles could be tarted up to make them look neater.

I would predict that the concrete blocks for the seating… and then the lower steelwork and blocks… followed by the roof canopy..: all of which will probably require a tower crane for installation

IMHO, I think they do need updating, to go with the times and match the new surroundings.
Not only that, they would probably be more reliable, as old turnstile counters have a tendancy to stick sometimes, and not always give the most accurate reading. Ours has in the past but we're not alone

Also, if the turnstiles were with the auto scanners, it would require less manpower on matchdays. Not wanting to do anyone out of a job but, there would be an ongoing saving to help pay for the cost ?
Having said that, it's all about getting best value for what we have to spend.

I'm less bothered about the turnstile, which would be a lot of money. Rather the appearance from the outside. That could be tidied up easily. If we have the fantastic stand as a front face of the club, the turnstil and walls need to be updated.
