Thinking about season ticket in new east stand this season. Heard they’re going to open it section by section and are hopeful first section be open after first few games. What are they saying when purchasing east stand tickets.

Up the Trin
I recently purchased 3 season tickets for the north stand section of the new east stand as this is where the players tickets will be seated, hopefully this will be the first section opened and the away supporters seats at the cats bar end the last

I think after the first few games might be optimistic. Lunch time today JM repeated a statement he’s already made a couple of times recently. The Stadium hand over date is currently mid August 2023. The intention is to get the North end of the Stand fitted with seats asap, but even then it down to Safety regulations at what stage the spectators would be allowed to use the Stand. J M did say Michael is optimistic about using some seats earlier than August, but John isn’t getting ahead of himself, Personally, I don’t think the Stand will be fully complete by mid August. It’s possible the building work is completed, but all the fixtures and fittings required for both floors will probably take months to complete. Just my opinion and I’m no expert, I hope I’m wrong and we can be using indoor toilets and hospitality before the end of the season.

Bloody hope it is - I've paid extra for a seat when the stand "soft-opens" mid-season.

Because the rise of modern terracing is much steeper, giving a vastly improved viewing experience, it will end up shorter but the same height at the back, see my crude drawing. There is in fact an increase in capacity despite the last third of the upper terrace being made redundant as the new terrace is far safer and can hold far more.
At some point in the future we cud carry the terracing right up to the top, but then we would definitely need a new roof. This extra capacity is not yet needed, but is available should it ever be.
Hope this helps
Not sure if you know the answer or not, what will happen to the bar(shed) at the back? will this no longer be in use?
eems daft if so. I would have thought the area behing the new terracing would be used as a walk way/queing area for that bar, that seems to make more sense. I guess that is down to h&s and the counil
If they can incorporate a couple of serving hatches in the back wall of the North Stand they could use the space behind it as a shop and serve beer at the back of the stand

No worries, just thought I'd ask as you are a man in the know
Does make sense to use the 'old' are as a walkway queuing are if possible.
Also, I'm not sure how the fencing off would be done, unless is a concrete wall that's apart of the terracing. I'm interested to see how it looks, looking forward to getting in there once the season starts.

All I know is that a lot of what we hoped to do in this first phase won't happen or will be cut down. It's purely financial, the original budget has been destroyed by the financial upheavals of the last 12 month.
All will happen eventually, but disappointingly the North stand in particular will not be quite what we wanted, though still a vast improvement. FWIW I reckon that if we do OK in the next 3 years it will be finished to a good standard by then. Adding a bar here, and toilets there are more manageable projects that can be over time without bankrupting us.
I know I (amongst others) have asked before Vasty, but is there any news yet on whether the Donny Road turnstiles are going to be replaced or refurbished ??
