Disagree that Swinton were best opposition we played this season or fittest.
That was in fact our most poorest game performance wise this season.
The first 30 in particular need to be better. Can’t keep going behind that first half. One time it will bite us when the forwards don’t pull us out of it.
Rodwell and McGillvray standout today with Boothroyd solid as a rock and looking good in second row.
Lawford didn’t have the best game but he got some awful shocking passes over his head and to his ankles.
Playing players out of their best positions is a huge no from me. Jowitt is a fullback and Walmsley is a winger.
Even though that was a very poor first 50 or so minutes, that was a great game of rugby to watch. Fair play to the ref who I think is the best we’ve had this year so far.

I thought our right side defence was a shambles today and Swinton really exploited it. I think that performance has given Powell plenty to think about. Thankfully our superior pack did the job in the end. However a win is a win, roll on to Whitehaven next week.

We weren't great, but always had enough power to win the game. We struggled because of Swinton's game plan and off the cuff play. They turned us around early in the tackled count with some great kicks meaning we had the full pitch to go at. Very astute tactics on a day like today.

Got to disagree with the right side of defense i thought the majority of issues where our left edge and as been most of the season.4 of the 5 tries cames down out left edge. Think today is one of those a win is a win and the performance whilst poor will no doubt stop players and fans getting carried away. What have i learned from today is both boothroyd and bain would be a waste of quota spot, lawford needs to go to hunslet on duel reg for rest of the season hes no way near ready for this yet.

I thought for much of the game they were better than us from a skills point of view. We were fitter and our forwards were stronger but their 7 had an excellent kicking game and their ŕight centre and wing tore holes in our left edge. I don't know if was particularly Lawford but the flood only stopped when Kay when to defend at third man in.
The score did not reflect how good Swinton were.

Lawford got some awful passes because he was bouncing around like a Duracell bunny every 2 seconds when waiting for he ball.. he had no idea where to put himself and looked nervous and it showed, in the end it is was the right decision to take him off as he was having a disaster of a game. There is definitely a player there with lots of potential, we just need to manage his transition to being a first team player.
Walmsley, albeit not in his natural position, had a shocker. Was sat next to Gale throughout and he had a lot to say about him being absolutely nowhere when we had the ball... Then he'd pop up at dummy half and take the ball in when we were 10 metres out, he's just not cut out for FB, not even as a back up. I think in the end, we just had to rely on barging our way over for points.
