I don't think he did, at the time there was a lot of clubs after him and I think even us showed interest but at the time, Shudds was flying high with expectations and it was local to travel to rather than wigan and wire

Hmm. It's the only Cup we have a cat in Hell's of winning. I am very disappointed but I couldn't go, so can't comment on the performance. All I can say is, we are a worse side than last season. I held judgement on this till now, especially with the fixture list we had, but the HKR performance was far from completely convincing. As someone who got berated pointed out, we were very poor for 20 mins in the first half and could have gifted a game to a team we are better than on paper. Yes, we put some good stuff together...in the end, with some good play, some lucky breaks and a strangely beneficent Mr Child, we got a scoreline I never felt comfortable getting carried away with. I suspected we'd get beaten last night and so it was. I think the 'Chester Out' title is harsh at the moment ....but I would have to say there is something very wrong with the way we are playing when in possession and it needs fixing fast or we will be having a very poor season and maybe even a middle 8 scrap. At the end of the day, who is out there better to replace him, unless we get John Kear back!? If we destabilize the ship now I would fear for us big time. Although I have my concerns, I think it's cool heads time, as badly disappointed as I am by this defeat and another Cup Final free year

He’s been on loan at dewsbury with Jordan Snowie, like you rightly say, a no nonsense prop, does the basics right, good to see Hudds bring him in and show trust, hope he keeps his spot.

yes I saw he had been to dewsbury, another of one of their players is a leeds lad played for Hunslet park side Billy Hayes not sure if he's now made a full move to them, he showed potential to be a very good scrum half but seemed to disappear for a period as lads do.
nice to see lads progress even if its not for your club you support
It would have been if we’d made the final! Thats the figure Steve Gill quoted as Cas making in 2014 ( getting confused in my anger last night!).
There was though an uplift in attendances during our run in the other games that seasons that put money in the coffers and it raised the clubs profile, something which for clubs like ours is priceless. Cup runs make it a lot easier to balance the books moving forward.
Are you saying that financially, we're better off out of the cup ? We certainly wont have made a fortune on our share last nights gate, which was pitiful, but, there's some brass to be made if we could get as far as Wembley.

No I was answering a direct statement about getting to a semi final in 2016

By my count only one person the whole thread thinks we are even close to thinking of losing Chester.
I do think he's tried to change things slightly this year and it has affected play but I remember McDermott doing that at Leeds and having a bad run but once they got used to it the won GF after GF.
I liked the idea of a big pack and wearing teams out but it isn't quite working for us yet. Clearly Big Dave is the jewel in the crown. Huby and England are doing well but are not monsters. Keegan and PP are monsters but can't keep hold of the ball so are nullifying their talent. Even Arona is missing tackles he didn't used to miss. The coach needs to find out why and get them back to their best. Less about big battering rams and more about quite big skilful forwards. The other thing that seems to have changed is accuracy of passing. We have two excellent hookers who give good service but Randell is more accurate than Wood who puts the ball too high sometimes. The half backs seem to be all over the place. The pass is again nullifying the pace out wide. When it's fast and accurate like for one of Grix tries last week we are unplayable but we are way off our best. I have no problem with effort. It's all about execution.
