Indeed. As said before, segregation adds to 'us' and 'them', and it also allows for bravehearts to try to look hard in front of their boozed up mates with empty threats and hand gestures. Funny how they aren't so quick to do so when the opposition fans are stood a few yards away from them.

The only downside is that it perhaps kills a bit of the atmosphere, as so many people are spread out and migled amongst each other, it makes it hard for that vocal element of support that some supporters pride themselves upon.

Forgive the intrusion but my experience of problems outside of grounds has generally been :-

1. Young people who have not been to the game and just want to cause trouble

2. Alcohol drunk outside of the ground by non supporters

3. The fact that the Police could take a leaf out of Huddersfield's book who set all the traffic lights to green to allow the away coaches to get straight through without stopping and making them a target

This is often the case where there have been problems on Preston Road at Rovers games

SORRY i dont think i made my point clear they were 14 or 15 yrs old not that many people but they were drinking alcohol
