at last nights yorkshire youth meeting it has been decided that the under 9s will for the remainder of the year revert back to mini league rules.
every coach present objected to the decision but despite there best efforts to challenge the decision it was upheld with severe consequences for any club continuing to play mod rules.
from a personal point a view i have just spent 2 hours a week for the past 8 months helping my kids develope the skills required for mod rules to see it all wasted for the want of 6 months,to say i am un happy is an understatement, breaking the news to the kids in training on thursday will be hard and trying to explain the decision impossible.

yet another first class cock up from barla.
WTF How the hell can you coach kids to go backwards? From watching stanley's games this year they have an unbeaten record that in turn is half down to the man marking . The Yorkshire league could shoot their own foot if the gun had blanks in it. just told my lad and he is devastated.
stanley under 11s are having a friendly against shaw cross sharks this saturday ko 11-00ish be nice to get into the action again, it was the a close game last time in terrible conditions,
I hope we have as good as game as last time but with better weather

FFS get you facts right BARLA have nothing at all to do with the rules regarding junior rugby league, its the RFL, and at the same meeting the member from the RFL failed to turn up.

TBF it really does not matter who instigated the rule change the fact is the 9s got told preseason to train for Mod rules just as most clubs are getting to grips with it they revert back to mini rules which means 9 a side (many clubs recruited more players for mod rules) and wide spread confusion but in just over 3 months we will have to play mod again as they will then be training for the under 10s. It stinks but then again i suppose its good practice for those who will end up playing pro .........RFL really screws you up.
