As PT says below I think Parcell was just wishful thinking. I think it was even me many weeks back suggesting we look at him as an option to be honest.
Like you say I expect Hood will be announced soon for a year until there’s more quality on the market at 9.

I think that's exactly the right point. We should wait for the right quality rather than panic buy for the sake of it. Hood and Doyle will be fine for next year.

Not really sure that Hood and Doyle will be ok for next year.I know it's a project and not a one year thing but we have talked about being in the top half of the table and I see hooker as a very important component of that.I don't want to come over as moaning but I see all these top players coming in and think we are perhaps neglecting the most important position of all in todays game.Maybe there is a quota problem,a cap issue or just nobody available, or DP thinks, as does a previous poster, that Doyle is SL ready.Hope so.

As discussed I think it’s a mixture of the above.
Doyle is ready for the SL step it seems.
If Hood re-signs short term it will be because he’s the best available otherwise until 2026.
Smith may be in an out but isn’t fully ready yet (a loan spell in championship would do him well).
Kay will be cover in emergency too as will Russell.
Doyle is ready, and Powell rates him highly. I guess it depends what style you want to play, and Doyle is perfect for that tough, direct, fast line speed style that we seem to be adopting. Very similar to Hood really, but 25 years old. If he can develop a kicking game like McShane did under Powell, he could be brilliant for us for many years. If he meets his full potential as a starting hooker, and Harvey Smith his in terrorising the big middles, they'd be an awesome pairing. But most people on here seem to agree both of them are at least a year off being ready to try that.
So like PT says, who can you bring in for a year that would be any better than Hood, while sacrificing someone who's clearly a big part of the group, loads of knowledge to impart tot he others, and a point to prove back in SL? Jayden Hodgson from Hull (too inexperienced, another project), Jake Granville (quota spot, expensive, past his best), Tom Forber (another project)? And I don't know about you, but I haven't seen a hooker in the Championship as good as Hood.
Danny Levi is being offered to SL clubs from Canberra and I'd have him in heartbeat, he's a top hooker. He's good defensively and has a great attacking game, tbh I'm not sure why they're getting rid of him. He was very good in the season he played over here a few years ago for Hudds. He'd bring a new dimension to our game IMO. He's quota but he'd be great on a 2-year deal, he and Doyle would be an excellent pairing and it'd give us time to bring Smith on.

I would t be against that.
It seems like the club feel they need to strengthen the edge forwards though. There are a couple of uk options here though like Royle who could be a solid pick up.

We haven't got any quota places left though.
