4,000 is a fantastic amount of season tickets at this point with 2 months still to go. There's also Christmas to come with the Festive challenge Vs Leeds which will add more. Then there’s the inevitable flurry of sales as the season approaches and pre season trial games start to be played, whetting the appetite of those who’ve been contemplating buying a ticket but haven’t yet done it. I still maintain that we’re not done in the transfer market and if we do sign someone special it will also boost sales. My original prediction was 4,500 but I do think we’ll reach 5,000+ With walk ups and increased away fan numbers we could be looking at attendances of 7,000 for most games with some matches selling out. Who would have predicted that 18 months ago?
I was a little disappointed with the number but now it's looking ok. I guess with night games etc some people may not buy season tickets but will pay on gate. We need to push towards a home following of over 6k really so with away fans can hit the next IMG goal of a 7.5k average. But I remember Mick Carter saying the golden number to spend full cap was 6k and we never got near that. I think previous season ticket sales in Super League used to be around 1.5k

I don't know where you get that idea from when everyone else, including Ste Mills, is saying that we are done ??. Yes, we have a "bit of wiggle-room on the salary cap", but, along with having no quota spots available and having the squad that we currently have, I think you're going to be disappointed.

But he maintains it. Surely that counts for something??

The club certainly left room for a player or two and since then Kay has left as mentioned. I suspect if the right player (or two) become available that we will see them at Trinity.
I hope and can only see us signing players who improve the starting 17. We don’t need cover or numbers, we need quality.
Players every year through the season become available and it’s good we will be able to pounce if they do.

Maybe you are right but I'm just listening to the people at the club who suggest you are not.
I don't really mind either way. I'm happy with the squad we have. We have no quota spot so no overseas player coming in and there isn't anyone special off contract. Mills said he was looking at front rowers after Kay freed space but Powell and Ellis both said that wasn't an issue for now. Maybe in the season when injuries start to hit.

That’s my thoughts. There isn’t any issue with the squad we have. It’s very capable on paper. I’m happy to go into the season as it is.
I just expect if someone of real quality becomes available (not quota) for any reason between now and through season that we could be interested and in a good position to make a move.
Be nice to have a fast forward button to Boxing Day!
