And the prize money, TV appearance cash, extra sales etc. The run in 2016 was worth circa 250K.

Really disappointed with tonights performance. I always think the Challenge Cup is the best chance of a trophy for a team like ours. We do not have the week in week out consistency to get to Old Trafford, but do have the capability to win three or four one off games over a three month period. But to say Chester out is ridiculous.

To say Chester out is just daft.

BUT...i personally think he got it wrong by publicly stating that it wasn’t his priority and that finishing top 6 was. It gives a negative mindset from the get go and shows a lack of ambition imho.

I beats me how you can’t get your team up for the challenge cup ,a chance to get the fans excited and some much needed money in the coffers .
When you see a young forward run straight through arona and hirst and scores under the sticks ,it makes you wonder what the hell is said in the dressing room I’m afraid it was the Danny brough show yet again .

Chessy out is plain stupid as for Kear he has walked twice now MC tried to keep him but he chose Bradford as Head Coach so bye!

Where we are really failing is stupid penalties around the ruck and the poor handling that is impacting on our possession and giving the opposition field position and cheap easy possession. This really needs sorting. Tonight in the second half we saw a number of passes into touch had they come off great but we seem to be like headless chickens at times. If you retain possession and get field position its a game of percentages and patience we seem to be struggling with this concept at the moment. That said I love the off the cuff stuff but it comes with risks.

I'm amazed that there's such disinterested in the challenge cup. Given the current format you're far more likely for success in it than in the league - you only need to win 3 games to be in the final, and potentially this year two of those could be against championship opposition.

I don't believe for a second when Chester said that the cup is not his priority.

My opinion is that Wakefield are too good to finish 9tb but not good enough to finish 4th..... The challenge cup and drawing Huddersfield was a great chance for Chester to get a buzz around the club that's been distinctly lacking over the years.

It was a really strange statement to say it wasn't his priority.

Thats being said, he's been a solid coach for Wakefield and I'd ask logically who you'd bring in on his wages who is guaranteed to do better?

going to sleep on this one as I'm mighty disappointed with them tonight but Chester out is not the answer.

one person you can blame is me, on most of the loses I've had a cheeky bet on them to win and every time they have let me down so never again no more bets

Have to agree with this.
Of course its critical that we achieve SL survival but, Chester seemed to be writing off our only slight (very) chance of success and that isn't right.
Even if we're prioritising the league, publicly we have to sat that we're throwing everything at the cup game.
On to the game, what the hell are we doing.
Set completion (or lack of it) plus penalties conceded is just killing us.
WE can have a host of moves but, when we're turning the ball over on tackle 2 or 3, whilst in the opposition 20, we wont win anything.
Yes, there were some iffy calls but, the ref had a better game than most of our players.

Out of the cup with barely a whimper, so bloody disappointing and worst of all, Huddersfield didnt need to do anything special to secure the win.
Let's at least make it hard for the opposition ??

Just on a side note, I'm sure that Leigh's priority is promotion to SL but, it didnt stop them scalping Salford.
I wonder which side, Wakefield or Leigh will take confidence into their respective games next week ??
