The golden point ball-steal incident was the straw that broke the camels back. Like many other ex Wakey young players he's doing OK a peg below. Good luck to him. You could never knock his commitment and effort.
What ever happened to Mark Field?

There are so many players of that ilk.
For so long we seemed to "produce" lower end SL or Championship players.
Whether this was due to other clubs sweeping up the best juniors or, perhaps our own junior coaching, who knows.

At the moment we seem to have an excellent crop of youngsters and like most, I hope that they keep making progress, hopefully in the RW & B of Wakefield.

Magic Morton, nuff said.

Strike rate isn't relevant. A lot of his 27 games he probably hardly had a pass.

Wow. What a nasty and quite odd comment, funny you insult Dale who is just a professional going about his job yet you are the first to jump to the rescue of a drunken Albert Kelly on the VT after his derogatory treatment of various members of the public. Your morals seem to be all in the wrong place my friend.

"Before the age of 13, Morton played football for local Knottingley team Kellingley Welfare FC. From the age 8 to 13 Dale was watched by professional football clubs such as Leeds United, Huddersfield Town and Barnsley. He then opted to play rugby league with school friends and from that day has been a success in the sport."

What a load of dross! And If I think Kelly was right in what he did then that's on me, everyone is different. FYI we're not friends, so don't refer to me as one.

I remember Johnny Lyons a stand off who took loads of stick. He always gave 100% and was a bit of a rough diamond . He could certainly mix it up always got stuck in . Think he followed the Toppo eara.

What a strange and unpleasant attitude towards a young player - long gone - who was trying to make his way in the game; and who, to my recollection, always gave his best. He took some absolute hammerings when he started playing 1st team, and I don't ever recall him giving less than 100%. As it happens, he didn't blossom into the greatest SL player ever, but he was a regular in a team that wasn't exactly pulling up trees.

Give the kid a break maybe?

Just annoys me when people post utter crap... he hasn't had any success and never will, well not in SL he won't.

I'm not giving the kid nuthing.

It's a strangely unforgiving attitude for someone who only a few days ago, was appealing for a cessation of fat jokes, because it brings him down.

I don't know Dale Morton - but I did watch pretty much every game he played for us - and I can see no reason why any WT fan would criticise him; it just seems entirely unnecessary and mean-spirited.

I haven't put him down as a person, I just don't rate him as a rugby league player. Respect my opinion please bren2k, I haven't called him fat or insulted his appearance.

I do respect your opinion - I just happen to think it's wrong - and I don't see the need to be so overtly critical of a lad who pulled on the shirt when most players didn't want to, and gave his all; so I'm providing balance.
