I didn't think he did too badly. He didn't impose himself on the game too much, but then again, he is new at being in the middle. And I didn't go to watch him, which seems to be Ganson's view of spectators, that we pay to listen to a whistle.

I agree about the lack of a card for holding down, but he penalised them frequently and probably gave us the game because of it.

In all fairness it must have been a very big day for the bloke reffing his first SL game. I know a more experienced ref would have given a warning
then a yellow for the holding down. However he never stopped penalising them and thats what counts in the end.

How many times can you hold down/spoil before you visit to bin because IMO Cats did it too often.

And while i'm on Mr Child, tackles above the neck are not allowed, or maybe they are in the rule book you have.

The lads still learning but IMO he's got a lot to learn.

They got away with it all last season and finished 3rd this season teams are wise to it they will be nowhere near the 8 this time

I think he did OK. Wasn't an ideal game to have as a 1st though. Well done lad.

Way out of his depth today IMHO.

I think its a disgrace trial refs are given SL games. Surely they should come up through the ranks at low leagues first?

Surely there must be better more experienced refs in NL1 that would have liked the chance to step up to SL?

That poor young lad was well out of his depth today and I actually felt quite sorry for him. Throwing him into the deep end is not going to help him or his confidence in the slightest.

Pretty poor all round really! :(

If he did not see it which he obviously did not then he could not call it. Therefore he did not give us Martin's try. Any critisism for that must go to the touch judge if we could see it 20yards away then so should he.

Maybe the same touch judge who didn't see Blanch's foot go into touch before he scored.

You had the same view as me. The ref's view was impaired by the players.
You must be more alert than me then to notice that the touch judges had not swopped sides at half time then :P 8)
