Great team performance

I thought our forwards were outstanding last night, they gave our halves and wings plenty of time and space.

There's a definite lack of the aroma of scouse today :D

bren2k wrote:Well that was very satisfying; our first 30 minutes were, I think, flawless - no penalties, no errors and 100% completion? Wigan barely touched the ball and when they did, we knocked them right off their game - lovely stuff.

I can't think of a player who let us down - but special mentions to Jowitt, Pauli, Big Dave and Hampshire; and that pairing of him and Miller looked great - quick, sharp and very inventive. BJB a very worthy motm - he was absolute class for the full 80.

Most satisfying to see Mr Child hand out penalties for backchat - it seems clear now that they've been told to clamp down on it, and I fully support that initiative; love seeing Tomkins put in his place. Maybe the next directive could be to penalise SoL every time he a) tackles around the neck and b) when he cynically reefs the ball out? Great player, but as Dave pointed out pre-match, an absolute grub.

Good work from the North Stand with the Rectum songs - but I do wish you'd cut out the C word stuff - it's a bridge too far; that used to be a word that men would never say around women - what happened?! Or am I just old fashioned?

This, I enjoy the singing chants we do BUT not this, The Young'uns need to keep to the encouraging songs.

Social media. It's brought everything out in the open, no matter how taboo, and it's spilled over into daily life. Even my wife uses it more than me these days.

I very rarely use the F word in front of women even though I find more and more younger females happy to use it themselves occasionally. FFS is the exclamation I use at least 20 times a day at work though.

Never use the C word in front of females and never hear them using it, although it is a term I use regularly when describing individuals to male colleagues. Usually affixed with "useless or dozey"

Take your pick last night. 'Joel's a c*nt and so is Sam' was one.

Nothing wrong with singing and chanting

But using language like that isn't acceptable. We are a family sport, and it's not nice to hear when you have a young family with you.

"Wash your mouth out son......" then it eventually gets to the word "Cas"

Indeed - it crosses the line for me; I don't take young kids any more, since mine have grown up, but I cringe for all the women and kids who are subjected to that. When I were a lad, had I used that or any other profanity in front of women, my Dad, a tremendous swearer himself in male company, would give me a clip and make me apologise.
