On one occasion last night it took him 3 play the balls to get him back onside and he’d only just come onto the pitch ,simply not good enough at this level.
Not just picking on Pauli though as we were all pedestrian taking the ball in all night ,how the hell you can get on top in a game when all the opposing players ran faster and stronger is beyond me .
I don’t know anything about the inns and outs of coaching but never mind the fancy moves/ structures we are struggling with the very basics of the game ,which is a sorry state to be in at this stage of the season .
I still believe we are more than capable of winning our remaining fixtures if the correct squad is fielded ,but boy do they need a reality check if the team and staff think that performance is good enough to turn any team over .

I saw that.
But I also saw him take 3 drives in one set of 6 when we were under the cosh.

What did he do for the other 19 minutes

Am I the only one on here who thinks that TJ is showing a little lack in confidence. After such an horrendous injury as he sustaed last year I can understand if he is a little hesitant , but yesterday on two or three occasions he seemed to stop momentarily when approaching a defender. and turned inside. Pre-injury he used to run straight. I'd hate to see happen to him that happened to Keith Slater back in the day. He too was a talisman, free-scoring winger but suffered from the dreaded lack of confidence. Having said that the TJ try from Finny's kick was joy to behold.

Not for me. I thought that Catalans had him really well covered, and he was right to turn inside on each occasion. the only chance we did have to get him clear was in the first half and Tupou held onto the ball too long.

fair dos!! I agree with you re Bill Tupou. There was no excuse for holding on to the ball.

They did there home work on him thats for sure! Bj bombed a couple of chances and also gifted them a try with a lose carry near the end, at the end of the day it's if only.

Yes your right he did settle down and put a stint in and didn’t take a backwards step. I think I’m frustrated with him more than anything as I expected with his size to be a more devestating runner in the mold of Murdock Masella .
Think if coached right he would be unstoppable near the line ,just needs to run onto the ball harder, but that goes for the rest of the team also.

But why from 5 yards out of our own line on the hand over were Reece cleaned out drinkwater on the last catalan tackle! Did he tap the ball leading to rocky trying to take it up ? To me down right idle on his behalf.

I do think TJ lacked a bit of confidence.
Those were not clear chance and I'm not saying he blew it at all but I think TJ before the injury would have given or of them a go.
He's got time and he clearly doesn't lack speed and agility. It sometimes just takes a few goes to get your head right again.

Fully agree there Pop Tart.

We were pretty much in line with where he took the ball in some instances.
.
He does appear to have lost a little confidence in comparison to the past
