Was The Star the smallest pub in Wakey. Very tight for room. Nobody has mentioned the Shakespeare yet. Pubs like the Shakey and the Fleece were mainstays of the Tetley's Darts and Dommies League. Most of the Tetley pub landlords threw a good arrow.

Aye they didn't come much smaller than the Star, nice pint of Tetleys though me favourite pub in town along with the Dog and Gun, The Shakespeare wasn't much bigger, once again a decent pint of Tetleys, Annie was the name of the landlady used to go in there mainly to oggle at her cracking daughter married unfortunately decent game of three card though in the back room

If you walk up the Springs and turn right onto Trinity Walk, it used to be about 20 yards on the right just before the Willow Pattern chinese on the corner before the Brunswick.

Used to have some serious games going on in the tap room of the old Mitre. Jim Nutter used to signal last orders by switching the lights off, then on. When the lights came on there were occasions when a few hands were on top of the pot! Mayhem then ensued
