Below is taken from league Express 24/08/2020

Super League will not receive a penny from their sponsorship deal with Papa John’s. The competition will receive plenty of pizza, with players and match day staff being fed following games. But league Express understands they will not get any money for the partnership, which sees the pizza powerhouse get match day advertising on touch line billboards, as well as acknowledgement at the start of super league’s video content.
The arrangement is in place until the end of the season, and it’s believed Super league hope it can lead to a move financially appealing deal next year, but for the time being, super league is effectively giving away advertising in return for pizza.
The competition’s Chief Commercial officer, Rhodn Jones said, As we have seen since the restart, Betfred Super League games are getting faster and harder, and I know the players are grateful when they see so many pizzas to choose from, after a tough 80 minutes.
Papa John’s marketing director Giles Codd, added, ensuring the players and officials are fed safely post-match, is paramount, and our teams are well drilled in safely delivering fresh hot and tasty pizza, after successfully adapting to the situation we find ourselves in during this global pandemic.

Where is the problem in getting virtually free advertisement in exchange for free pizzas in a season where everybody bar Sky and super league have all but written the competition off, to quote your post, it's in place for the rest of the season and is hoped it can lead to a financially appealing deal next year, just where is your problem with that?, just remind me again who the prospective sponsors are again please, surely a bit of something is better than a lorry load of nothing.

Papa John’s pizza, as opposed to a lorry load of nothing Eddie Stobart. I can’t remember anything good coming from that, can you. How many on here even saw a said lorry advertising super league.

My reference to a lorry load of nothing had nothing to do with Stobart but simply the politest expression that came to mind, you still have not explained your annoyance at the RFL or whoever's acceptance over their offer for the rest of the season, the game was on it's arris before this virus if you hadn't noticed, diminishing crowds and a less than favourable new deal with Sky and the rest of the gloom brought on by this pandemic, come next season you might be grateful for papa Johns sponsorship especially as it was reported that the league were looking for a financial deal which you seem to have ignored, just remind me again who these sponsors are queuing up to spend their money.

Saw plenty of them up and down the M1 and M62, Dunk. Including the Trinity version (spotted twice) . Kirmy on the side of the truck as I recall.

I think it was Steve Southern on the Stobart wagon.

I’m not looking to argue with anyone on here over this. My annoyance is. With the RFLs commercial department giving prime advertising space to any company, on the hope of getting a good sponsorship deal some time in the future. One reason why good sponsorship deals are hard to get may well be down to the fact that the RFL are weak enough to give away free advertising. It’s been said before on here, Lions led by donkeys. To me it seems there’s a sanctuary of them donkeys over in the Etihad Campus.

Apologies if that’s the case, but that make it even worse. The money that SL top bosses earn, they shouldn’t be making Micky poor decisions like this.
