IMO max is head and shoulders above grix in one on ones. Saved a try every game I've seen him start recently. Grix shouldn't be getting near the side until max needs a break or form slips.
Think max is still work in progress and will strengthen all facets of his game over time ,and make a quality fullback Grix on the other hand has had years more experience of the big games, so nice headache for coach to have when both fit . Max has the speed and his skill levels will only go up. Grix has the better rugby brain for now and the guile to still be a threat at fullback .
I thought he was outstanding yesterday - apart from the kick out on the full, he never really put a foot wrong; and the 1 on 1 tackles were as good as you'll see.
He's still not quite there in terms of attacking play - but I think that's an issue of game time and confidence; he showed some flashes of it - for example the cut-out pass that Johnstone fluffed near the end - but all in all, a very accomplished performance.

[quote="djcool"]Did Jordy enjoy his trip to Toronto?[/quote Text me happy dads day but not home till this afternoon so will get to know more then, playing with a dead leg from last week. Watched it on Premiere, did ok but can’t do much more against a wannabe SL side with part timers.

the two one on ones were great to see, think wire read our plays well when we were attacking their line when the ball went out the back to Max they were quick on him to stop him getting the ball away. Brown and goodwin did it a couple of times to be fair
Thought Max was man of the match yesterday, improving with every game now he can string them together week after week, especially defensively. Two great one on one trysavers yesterday. I would like to see him accelerate through some of the half gaps he managed to create yesterday.

I thought that - and someone else mentioned earlier - he looked a bit indecisive at times; his big advantage over Grix, and probably his only one right now, is speed - if he went for some of the gaps he created, there'd be breaks on that could open up the defence.
