A lot of people said the same when Leeds Tykes in the 90's & look how much of a money spinner that has been for Leeds Sport. We have the likes of Quegs in our region as well as RU being taught in most high schools over RL, so there is familiarity within the region, it would just be up to WRU to re-establish themselves.
(Semi-) Professional rugby union in this city is dead and completely unviable. It couldn't attract crowds or sponsors to keep afloat a second-tier club, and I see no reason why it would now, especially moving it away from its home at College Grove and that area of the city.
Leeds RU was the perfect combination of timing, Caddick's involvment in the mergers and being able to spend, despite low crowds, and get to the top tier.
Wakefield FC, as mentioned, now have a perfect size home for the level they are at and where they can potentially get to. They couldn't afford the overheads of 200 people rattling around a 12k stadium.
I hope we, sorry, the Trust, can attract others to the project, but think you are barking up the wrong tree.
