Half of the time I can't even be bothered to respond to posters on this board, we have had a good season, two intense games in Leeds and Saints and all of a sudden if we don't get to the play offs its game over for Kear.
What is the obsession with constant improvement? It's not that easy with a club like us, the only time we'll be able to be a top club is if we get a new stadium, and are drawing in 8-10k every week, making more money for better signings and renewing player contracts.
Everyone wants the club to improve, but its so hard when teams around us are playing in their shiney new stadiums, with their sugar daddys, and 30-40% more ticket sales than us. We can play well on our day, granted, but how can you expect us to turn up every week? Other clubs are also striving for the same goals as us, its a tough competition this season.
I'd love to see someone do as well as Kear has with Wakey, he's been a miracle worker for us, so I don't know how anyone can have the cheek to have a pop at him in the same manner as the OP.

Whilst the opening poster is way over the top with this ultimatum about Kear and the playoffs. he does raise a valid point about players playing in their prefered positions - as many on here have mentioned through the season. I know for many games we have had to make do and mend, with makeshift line ups, Demetriou appears to play his best in the 3/4, and Grix yet again showed himself as wortthy for a run at 6 - rather than reshuffling the pack after an hour and putting each of them into their (in my opinion) most influential position.
Grix needs a run at 6, and Demetriou needs to be back in the centres - how we make provisions for this is a moot point, but it should happen in my opinion.
We put this festival on you b*st*rds
With a lotta love
We worked for one year for you pigs
And you wanna break our walls down
And you wanna destroy us
Well you go to hell

indeed. again for me today we lost shape and balance when we had both hookers on the field and thus not spelling them properly. for one set we had obst and drew stood in the attacking line with grix and jd at acting half. why? i'm sure it contributed to our apparent lack of direction throughout the match, we didn't play to any defined plan and didn't lay any real platform consistently

I would move him to second row right now, got the strength and power lacks the distribution, today there was an ideal opportunity to pass the ball to murphy and open up the cas defense but it was blown away by him keeping the ball

I would move him on and put his wage to better use.

not for me. you mention murphy and maybe he will go on to be a success in the centres, i certainly hope he develops and gets his chance. however on todays showing he's not there yet he got dominated in the tackle pretty much every time. i accept he's not played first team for a while

that agree too he's now failing to respond, I have taught my lad at his young age that the winger is for running in the tries and not to be greedy and he responds and uses his winger,
he is showing no faith in his wingers
as far as john kear how anybody from trinity can call for him to leave is beyond me, you only have to look at the work he has done who would we get to replace him anyway

Today Murphy carried the burden of having Atkins as his centre, he did everything that was required of him to good effect IMO as he has done all season when given the chance, in fact there was one point in the game in the second half when he was playing Cas on his own in defence. Atkins has had more than his chance and failed to kick on, there is now a player in Murphy that is waiting his chance to oust glamour boy, I hope JK doesn't wait too long to give him that chance otherwise we might lose another good home grown player.
