Was told today that the marshway project was going to stop due to lack of funds.
Also someone cocked up with the supply of electricity to all the shops that were going to be there which means it would now have to come from a sub station behind rawsons. (only at wmdc planners dept)

I did post this a while ago.
Need to work on next weeks lottery now.

I drive around 50,000 miles per year all over the country its not just Wakey the whole country looks crap pubs closed down shops boarded up run down areas as you drive into most cities and towns
The future of this country looks very bleak we manufacture F all the only jobs will be low paid call centre care workers shop assistants (if we have any shops left) sales and financial services etc
The country is screwed started by the Tories and finished off by 10 years of total mismanagement by new labour
Each and every one of us needs to take a long hard look at ourselves part of the reason for the extinction of our manufacturing is the fact we all want quality but don’t want to pay for it result folk are on the dole and now have to buy shi@e from the likes of Primark and Asda.
You would not believe some of the crap from China and India the construction and Joinery Company’s use in my trade they could not give a toss if it lasts 12 months

The city has waited many years for this development and now that’s its finally underway the money funding the project has dried up. Just another project hit by the nationalisation of the worlds’ banks and subsequent reduction of lending.

Hopefully funding from central and local government, Yorkshire Forward and perhaps lending from another bank may drive the project to completion. Otherwise Wakefield will have the worlds most expensive playground slap bang in the middle of the city centre! Still,,,, if it gets the kids active!

…and as MOPSEY said, if nothing is forth coming, I know of an organisation that would be delighted to recycle the steel work!!!

Good place for a new ground though isn't it. Just a shame that the roads around there are shocking.
