Was sat in stand for that game, don’t normally but for some reason decided might as well for a change. So we got sat down and some Wire fans sat in front of us, we got talking to them and game kicked off. First tackle I said “Smash him” to which they all seemed to turn around like it was rehearsed one after other “oh that’s not very nice is it” They laughed.
Westwood gets the ball to which me and my mate said “smash that lover” and it all went crazy. “Don’t you bee saying that that’s our son” They did not like it one bit and all game they were having digs at wakey so me and me mate just kept taking p!ss saying “Warrington and Westwood still to score a try” And every time he got tackled we cheered like we had scored a winning try Never celebrated a win so much I don't think. Come end of game one of them went for me who I just pushed away and said sod off. And a nice little song to help them on there way!
The game away at the Wilderspool, i was about 15 and went with my mate on the supporters bus. Some fat Wire fan had been giving us grief all through the game then Phil Eden scored a full length (i think) interception try and the last minute to win the game. The fat man through his pie and peas on the floor in disgust and walked out of the game to a chorus us of us singing bye bye bye, happy days

For the programm article - anyone have any abiding memories of games against Wire?
The Brett Ferres pass? The Phil Eden try? The Marchy trip???? Bobby's game?
Always enjoyed the games against Wire as I've never gone into a game (except for the last Wilderspool game) where I didn't think both sides had a chance - this one being no-exception (at this stage anyway - when we only have 3 first teamers left by then it might be different!).
So go on, share the best memories on here, and remember, these may appear in the match-programme - with credits offered of course!
i forget the year but i remember being at the wilderspool when Ged Byne intercepted in the last minute to win it for us!!!!!!!!!!!!!
1st game at HWJ with JD at fb and had a shocker, but never looked back since
When bobby goulding who was performing poorly in the games prior to the one at wilderspool when he went head to head with alfie langer and totally controlled the game and outshun langer, unfortunately he never re-produced that level of performance again.
the first home league game i ever went to Trinity 15 Wire 11 5 tries to 2 we missed all the goals remember John Sutcliff having a good game
Think John Burke made his home debut
21-22 - four dubious penalties in Wakey's half from Klown (if I remember rightly), four tries as a direct result. Absolutely sickening.
Briers missing the penalty conversion and loosing Warrington the match in the final minute at HWJ. Brilliant game that. Solo put Atkins through early doors? The game was really tight in the last twenty. Trin managed to keep Fatfilli out on a couple of very close occasions when Briers put the chip in the corner for him. Very tense match. Did Jefferies get the last try? I don't think I have ever laughed so hard in my life after Briers missed that kick.
A game from when I was a young 'un always sticks out in my mind, but I can't remember which season it was. I think it was the first Friday evening Sky match I had been to and Trin had gone round all the schools giving out free kids tickets, so there seemed to be about 13,000 kids in the ground. I remember it being very close and quite brutal and the we won 12-10... If anyone can correct me on that please do.
The last game we played at Wildespool although we were losing we had them on the back foot. I forget who it was but from just under the sticks' somebody dived over, the ingoal judge gave it from 4ft and old tango man
with the bald head the touch judge disallowed it from 30 metres' away. they were out on their feet and if that had stood imo we would have beaten them that day.

That game finished 52-12. I don't think we were ever gonna win it.
I do remember that someone pulled up in the warm up (same as at Leeds) resulting in Rob Spicer playing on the wing (I think).
Wire were not going to lose that game!

Anyone remember the cup quarter final around 1980/81 with Alan Agar playing?
I remember going on the supporters bus, getting into the ground at the away end (it was segregated that day) and there were a bunch of Wires at the back of the stand. A 'charge' ensued and the Wire fans legged it to the front of the Bevan stand, just past the stewards, from where they exchanged 'banter' with the Wakey fans for the rest of the game.
We lost a tight game, but I don't remember the score.
