Very good news I couldn't see Max going anywhere really. He's been such a good clubman in the bad times- why would he leave now. Like I say very good news but 'huge' just wrong choice of word imo

Im glad the club hyped it up, I think it sends a great message to younger players.

Any positive airtime on socials or news outlets is of benefit to the club so I completely agree. We shouldn’t be happy with being a small club and it seems like we are now acting as a big club.

I take a bit of an issue with this view... we are being told (by those in the know) that we should be creating personalities in our sport... here we are announcing a contract extension for the world record holder for points in a rugby league season... what's the alternative?

I'm happy with HUGE... also fits modern language patterns... And it got space on a national sports news channel live!!

Just my opinion- I'm not blasting the club for it I just feel that word was the wrong adjective - it infers something more than a contract extension - albeit , of one helluva player and Max has no bigger fan than me.
I praised him when the club were messing him about when others players would have walked!
A far better word to use would have been 'exciting' the word 'huge' got me thinking of something massively affecting the club longterm!

I know what you mean, and I probably thought the same but I'm leaning Spooky's way now.
If we'd just signed someone with his CV and skills it would be huge. It's just familiarity has caused us to under value the signing.

And I think it's worth clarifying that too. He was not ours for 2026. He could have gone elsewhere. He is effectively a new signing for 2026.

You know what - with more thought they can put what they want! Just keep these days coming when at last us long suffering fans have something to look forwards to!

I think it IS huge news and that it says more about us fans' that we don't necessarily see it that way.

We've been spoiled in the Ellis era.

We've been getting more and we expect more.
