He had one of the best sidesteps you would ever see and tackled way above his size and weight, Hardly missed a tackle either. He taught David Topliss the art of being a stand off and Toppo was his natural successor. A great, great player.

Best Trinity No 6 I've ever seen - and as pointed out Toppo followed him, so that's how highly I rated Harold.
Nobody had a clue what he was going to do next, least of all him! He also tackled everything that moved!

Harold's playing days were before my time. However I got to know him personally when he ran the newsagents on Dewsbury Road. We'd talk for hours. I'd often catch up with him for a quick chat at matches. I did start to worry for him when I didn't notice him at games this season.

Really sad to see his passing. Whilst I may not have seen him in his prime, like many on here I am proud to have called him a friend.

Rest in peace Harold.

Was a paper lad for him at kettlethorpe , smashing guy to work for , when I told him I followed wakefield he always had time for a chat about the game .

Sad loss of a special player.

Yeah....directly opposite Ashleigh Avenue, where I grew up, was gobsmacked when he took it over (although he had retired from playing before I started watching the Mighty Trin), but I still knew who he was
Saw him regularly in the Asda with his wife until only a few weeks ago.
