He came to Trinity in an advisory capacity in the early eighties, he was way ahead of his time even then.

He offered himself as a full time coach and manager to the club as he was due to leave Penrith and had at that time not signed to coach Canberra.

We turned him down because he was too expensive (a ridiculous decision because at the time he was'nt asking for that much, £20,000 a season IIRC).

The rest is history

He was a member at New Life Health Spa in the Ridings while he was here and I was the Spa Manager at the time as well as being a player down at Belle Vue.

I got to know Tim very well and spent some time with him in Canberra in 1989.

UNBELIEVABLE I remember him coming over. Was this before Geoff Wraith was coach and his famous quote that players would not turn up for training as their wife was having atupperware party

strangely enough the LEG END that is JohhnyT has just rung and we were talking about Tim Sheens, he came over for 6 weeks and I thought he wanted £50000 for the season. He also visited Heppys , well he would if he was out with JT and Nige. Sheens is now coaching Gareth Ellis so they should have something in common
