| Post subject: | Change in Championship salary cap ? |
Has there been a chang in the salary cap of the lower leagues ? There are some quality players dropping down from SL, not least some of our old boys. Especially when you look at some of the guys JK has taken to Batley. |

The one's that JD has brought in are not on a lot of money. Obst has his Hull pay off and playing as a favour, Korki apparently has a decent job over there and Semi is on pay as you play deal. |

I agree with your comments, but I would have thought they'd want paying a fair bit more than your average Championship player ? |

There are a few relatively 'big name' players knocking around in the Championship this year. Sam Obst - Keighley Michael Korkidas - Keighley Semi Tadulala - Keighley Jason Demetriou - Keighley Ben Fisher - Batley Gareth Raynor - Featherstone Kevin Penny - Swinton Rob Parker - Leigh Jordan Tansey - York Can only help to raise the profile of RL outside of Super League I suppose

There is no money down here in the championships.The big name players that have dropped down are coming to the end of there careers as pro rl players, so it makes sense for them to go semi pro whilst looking at other way of earning money.I'd also guess that a number of them are now working in the community departments of there clubs. |
