After speaking with a very good friend of mine Mike Smith about the latest gossip/slander to come out of cougar park. I'm disgusted that the club has stooped to an all time low but then again nothing surprises me. Anyone that knows mike will know that there is no way in this world he would do anything to harm his beloved cougars. I mean come on the guy lives and breathes keighley cougars. Over the last year all mike and his close friend have done is help the club in getting sponsors interested, sorting out the music and voice over professionally OUT OF HIS OWN MONEY which wasn't cheap and then lining up a major college for massive sponsorship and to do some great work within the community that would have benefited the fans and club. The club have sat back and done nothing but harm to the club and its reputation whilst mike has tried to help and build interest working tirelessly in the background for months and not wanting a penny in return just to see cougars climb that mountain that's been created. It is absolute nonsense that he has been banned from the club, a move i feel they will rapidly regret. PLEASE PLEASE don't believe everything you hear, be patient because soon enough the truth will be out for all to read when a public statement will be made. Any club would be stupid to turn away the knowledge and experience mike has at running and creating one of the most famous clubs and history in our sport.


That is the post I put out on my face book page along with posting on the Cougar mania page. The post on the clubs page has been removed along with the other 96 negative fans comments plus they have chosen to block me. Some fans say I have an axe to grind but you couldn't be any further from the truth. Everything I say and do is through passion and love for the club and that got even stronger when I worked there which made me realise the potential of the club and just what goes on behind the scenes. It's no secret that I used to post on here regular about Marchy and the club and how it was all going to turn out. It was only ever going to end one way.

I am out raged and disgusted that the club once again is been turned into a circus as it stoops to an all time low. Some may have heard the rumours about Mike and his ban from the club along with a load of false accusations. Like I put in my post there is know way mike would do anything to jeopardies that club he loves it too much. It's no secret that Mike along with the remaining fans want Marchy gone and because Mike hasn't been afraid to make this known and confront the club pushing for the sacking of Marchy this is what it has lead to. All Mike cares about is the club and helping to make it great once again but all this board is bothered about is their circle of friends they get wasted with on a match day in their executive suite if that's what you can call it.

Mike has got a legal team in place ready to clear his name, he has nothing to hide and EVERYTHING is completely above board as he was trying to seal a deal for the club that would have been probably the biggest since cougar mania era. Gary in my opinion has sealed his own fate and made a massive mistake trying to ruin Mike. This is only going to end one way.

I only hope the club are proud of their achievements in charge because they have destroyed it brick by brick. The fan base now must be at an all time low with no more than 150 - 200 fans and that's been generous. The statement regarding Marchy and him going or staying if promoted or not was put in front of him and told this is what you need to put out there. Gary has no intentions of sacking Marchy.

The club is losing fans every week, They have no vision everything is take take take and nothing is given back to the fans. They have stripped the club back to skeleton staff along with its standards. Sad times for keighley Rugby

I shouted resign March at the end of the game last week, I will await my ban through private message no doubt. Shambles.

All rumours are incorrect , False Accusations
towards Mike Smith are being dealt with and
A public statement is being released very soon .

I will post any news on this subject as soon as it

Has Mike been banned from attending home games? If so, why?

Whatever the situation, the Cougars need all of the help that they can muster at present and, were it not for the distance, then we (by which I mean our family) would all be there.

One way or another, as 'OTT' says, something needs to happen soon to stop the rot as the present Board seem to have little idea of what to do or how to take the Club forward.

Strange though that neither our illustrious coach nor his assistant have been either willing or able to comment about our prospects for Sunday's game on the Cougars' website in the match preview! Has he/they left or, as last year, is he on holiday at a crucial time of our season?

Or, is he adding yet another chapter to his book of excuses?
