Coaches rarely walk if the board is keeping on employing them. Huddersfield board had the bottle. |

Marchy has a contract. Unless you have a few bob to pay him off you will just have to wait until the end of the season. |

This is the bit i don't get - In any normal employment situation if you fail to perform in your job , you can be sacked - why not a Sports Coach / Manager ? Not producing the results to an agreed standard must surely be classed as unsatisfactory performance and therefore subject to letting go ? BTW not a go at Marchy purely hypothetical question ...just confused by the end of season quotes that folk keep coming up with ...anyone ? |

Yes I am sure you are correct Rach but unless the employer has done everything correctly (warnings about performance, capability procedures correctly followed etc etc - all of which take time) and the employer dismisses the employee without all this having been followed then then there is big risk of being taken to Tribunal and losing (been there before!). This year therr were two objectives - final of the cup (exceeded) and promotion, the latter is still a possibility (admittedly remote now). Marchy's contract runs out at the end of the season (I think) so that.s when he would go. I still think if he goes now it will cost. |

No one knows the trems of Marches contract. There maybe a compensation payment. If the club cannot afford to pay it then what can they do? |
