Is anyone up for discussing today's performance at Oldham? Frustration is the word for me; I know our team is capable of playing so much better than that. We just weren't in it right from the start. There just didn't seem to be the required desire to keep Oldham from crossing our line, nor the desire or perhaps more importantly skill and nouse at the other end to get over theirs. It's just not happening in the forwards at the moment - the Yeds were making serious ground up the pitch nearly every set of six and we just weren't. I just can't understand why we play that one man up stuff; it's not good to watch and it doesn't work for us. It was only in those last twenty minutes or so when we started off-loading and throwing it about a bit that Oldham started to look anything like uncomfortable. Why do we wait so long before starting to play? At the moment we are not promotion material.
.
I don't like singling out players for criticism so I'm not going to. Instead I think I'll praise Brendon for putting the effort in as he does every game, along with Liam Darville, Andy Gabriel (great try), Tyler Dickinson and Josh Guzdek (an equally good try).

...forgot to say I thought our kick-chase was absolutely rotten today.

I give you the man of the match, anyone that turns up from Durham for that pish deserves it!

Lets not hide away that was a shocker and clear indication that top spot has now gone. Never once in the game. I thought we looked fired up in the warm up too.

How many games are left? We need max wins to gain 2nd now!

I agree with every point made C D C , great post , nothing really left to discuss . Got to Andy Gabriel and Jush Guzdeks tries were both great. What a star player Josh Guzdek is gonna make , he is cracking player now , think he is gonna be one of the best in a few year with the right coach.
Apart from that it was pretty dire stuff , on that performance we were no better tgan the Southern teams ...... Promotion in a must but not sure we are gonna do it after that shambles.

The day was doomed from the start and just rolled from one disapointment to another:
Although coach set off at 10:30, no breakfast stop!
Coach driver entered postcode from club website into satnav and ended up at Rochdale Hornets!
Oldham ground has improved little from the unsuitable state it was in last time I visited.
Paul March came off in warm up with strained Achilles/hamstring.
Oldham warmed up like they wanted to win a rugby match, and we, well, ran around a bit.
During the match Oldham outmatched us in every department (until we started throwing the ball around in the second half).
It's such a shame that we started the season with a settled team capable of doing the business and now it might be too late to gell the injury replacements into a unit.
On that showing we will be lucky to get in the playoffs.

Some players put in massive effort, others need to look in the mirror.
