I enjoyed today's game. The Cougars bossed every area of the game and in the end were throwing it about for fun. Both Brooke and Samy look great and would fit in very well if we can get them signed.

Samy especially I can see being a big crowd puller and top game changer. Has a bit of bite about him.

Very professional from Keighley today.

Than said, the boys from South Wales appear somewhat short of the standard I would expect at this level.

They did what had to be done, piled up the points against a weak team. Not something we've always done in the past, mind

It was good to see some points diff' racked up , that's gonna be important

I understand the lads from South Wales had to recruit a few local amateurs to raise a team so good for them. Way back in the mists of time Keighley have had to do the same when A teams were about.

I seem to remember Keighley having to resort to amateurs from clubs in the Oldam area when playing an away match at Oldham after a number of players refused to play following problems with wages etc - My memory says it was back in the 80s but could well have been after getting shafted on Superleague entry.

I think this was even later than that in the early 2000's there were only a few players stayed on Jason Ramshaw and Phil Stephenson two of them.
Seem to remember it was one of the oldham amateur side where we signed Paul Ashton from at that time. Paul Ashton went on to back heel a conversion.

There was also the 92-4 defeat by Leigh (?) in the 80's.
