With all the support from the rugby league community maybe it's time to drop the hatred which some fans have for Bradford Bulls at our club. There supporters and the club have got behind the Danny Jones situation with fund raising and donations. It's times like this that we should remember it's sport we are watching so let's wipe the slate clean and start again. |

As someone said to me at Danny's tributes at the club, "We hate each other for 80 minutes but after that we are all one big family." That is the touching thing about this week that when it come to it we share the one great love - Rugby League. |

TBH really at the end of it - do we really hate the Dulls that much ??? , Politics at the top end of the game has made relations harder and the influence and cack handed comments from certain individuals (CC ) have caused friction , and as with the likes of Leigh and Wigan , Cas , Fev and Wakey , the political local council situation but do I hate another club and all its followers - cause I dont . Working with Your Sporting Chance and Cougar Pride before that Ive taken part in a fair bit of partnership working with our friends from Odsal of course its a standing joke that I approach the Top House with shallow breath , garlic and crucifix at the ready but it's all part of the game ... |

Think discussing hate is perhaps a bit unnecessary. It's still uneasy reading, even when the explanation is there saying 'water under the bridge' etc. |

I worked with a Bulls fan before being made redundant. We teased each other about matters between the 2 clubs, but actual hate, no chance |

I will never support the Northern Dulls and will always cheer for their opposition, unless of course it’s Batley . I firmly believe that the Dulls have in the past conspired against the Cougars. So yes I dislike the Dulls as I dislike Bradford Council for how Keighley has degenerated in the last thirty years but do I dislike the people of Bradford ... absolutely not, as I don’t dislike the supporters of the Dulls (except for the five men and I mean men, who kicked my head-in when I was twelve years old outside Odsal, and the pig on a horse who watched from a distance and did nothing). As a young man in the 70s I had some fantastic times in Bradford and to this day I enjoy the banter with the Northern supporters and of course I applaud the efforts that the Bulls are making towards the benevolent fund for Danny but that effort has in my mind nothing to do with Keighley/Bradford rivalry. Do I hate the Dulls? I don't think I hate anybody really. Hate is a strong and passionate word and is perhaps not what I mean and I'd be more than happy to change it to "I have an immense dislike of the Bradford Dulls" but this is so unimportant in the grand scheme of things. To quote Bill Shankly on the Liverpool/Everton rivalry; “I've seen supporters on Merseyside going to the ground together, one wearing red and white and the other blue and white, which is unusual elsewhere. You get families in Liverpool in which half support Liverpool and the other half Everton. They support rival teams but they have the same temperament and they know each other. They are unique in the sense that their rivalry is so great but there is no real aggro between them. This is quite amazing. I am not saying they love each other. Oh, no. Football is not a matter of life and death... it's much more important than that. And it's more important to them than that. But I've never seen a fight at a derby game. Shouting and bawling... yes. But they don't fight each other. And that says a lot for them.” I think the above parallels the Rugby League community, when you look on the Fundraising web page for Danny and you see the donations coming in from across the Rugby League community, not just the professional game but the amateur game as well and also from Australia & New Zealand it makes you proud to be involved. There’s a lot that is wrong with our game but there’s a hell of a lot more that is right with it, however I will continue to "dislike" the Dulls. RIP Danny |

Thanks for your clarification KRLFC that you don't "hate" the Bulls, it has only got as far as "an immense dislike". I am sure that on this well-intentioned thread, at this time, a detailed analysis of exactly where on the hate-dislike spectrum your feelings for the Bulls rates and why, is just what everyone was thinking of and wanting to know. How utterly crass and disrespectful. Even at this time, you think the convo should be about your personal animosities, or that anyone cares about them. You should be ashamed. |

Even I might bury the hatchet, just glad to be part of the Rugby league family today, although I will still enjoy the banter. Rach on a separate note, the Clubs seems to have really put things together well for Sunday, just a small point( I know its not your remit) But can someone make sure the bars are well stocked, I got a feeling one or 2 people might want to raise a glass to Danny. |

Must say I agree, this is not the time to be discussing this. I'd go as far to say id like this thread locked if possible? |
