Does anyone know what impact the proposed (which looks nearly certain to go ahead) widening into a duel carrigway will have on Cougar Park.

Will this leave us with only one entrance at the bottom of the ground? If so is that even allowed by Health and Safety?

Does it affect any of the proposed upgrades to the ground?

Looking at the satellite image of google maps you can see that the road at its narrowest is still effectively 3 lanes wide. So they will need to find room for an extra lane plus central barrier.

I think it may impinge on the second hand car forecourt but not block off the entrances/exits at that end.

It's probably worth the club finding out for sure though.

If the Council/government had to compulsory purchase the 2nd hand car lot it should be hoped that what is left of the area when the road goes through could be earmarked as an improved pedestrian access/exit to Cougar Park along with a footbridge link to Lawkholme Lane.

Just look at the wall of the cricket club, how wide the grass is at the petrol station and you get a clue.

It was planned years ago and the rugby pitch shortened to accommodate all the new owners etc.

I remember the turnstiles being where the grass at the forecourt is now!

No effect to the club at all.
