I have spent most of the evening trying to find some positives from todays game....... finally summoning the enthusiasm to post about it after such a
dreadful game.
The only positives were a much better defense , and they were a lot better ,
with just a few blips , at least I can congratulate them on that.
But thats as far as it goes for me IMO.
We should have hammered them with
a lot more tries and points , all we seem to have done is come down a division and lowered our standards to boot.
The two teams we played from last season , Barrow and Swinton , we lost to and struggled. Then playing Gloustershire and Gatesheadcastle who are in theory
'Lower ' teams we only just scraped a win when it should have been a lot more put
past them.
The game , despite the win , really was a lacklustre affair , yes it was a friendly , yes it was carp weather but be honest with youeselves , it just didn't happen , no spark there , mistake after mistake , flat dull carp and rugby at it's worst ..... if that was our best or better team then God help us. At least they were consitant with the biff and Handforth was in the thick of it.

it's just not gonna happen under Paul March , it's plain to see , Come on Gary Fawcett , do the right thing and put us out of our misery.

Oh please ........ With all due respect to yourself Cougartime and no offense
offered please look around you On matchdays , at the state of the ground that is a shadow of it's former self , at the bottom turnstiles with rotten wood doors hanging / ripped off hinges , at the overflowing skip and two trade waste bins overflowing with waste Next to the two dead fridges right at the front entrance that have been there at least a month ....how ironic, at the pothole 5 foot from the bottom gate that has a tiny green cone in it , at the rotting portacabins with kicked in doors , at the gents toilets in the bar and outside that smell so bad of stale urine and are that are so dirty they probably should be shut down , at thd 2 rusting mini buses just dumped just inside the bottom entrance , at the once fabulous hall of fame bar that is just a tatty mess with stained and hanging down ceiling tiles , sticky uncleaned tables just after opening , at the refreshment bar that was brilliant over the last couple of years that now only has undercooked chips , chip butties or rock hard overcooked sausage sandwiches and burgers .......if you visit ask for some sauce or a serviette and get a look from the young lass working there that would kill at 100 yards. At a Chairman that instead of trying to take a sound viable business plan with a proven income stream included would rather cut everything back to the bone........ Actually Gary , how much was that ' shut up and go away '
Payment from the RFL ? You haven't actually publically mentioned that yet .......
At a Coach that is so out of depth he would rather go out on the p i ss with his team and have slap dash at best training sessions than train his team properly ,
At a General Football Manager that resigned before the season started due to the
unprofessionalism of Chairman , coach et al , at a team that last season were playing championship Rugby league and after relegation have lowered standards down to championship one standard straight away with such fowl language on the field of play it would make Chubby brown and Bernard Manning blush.

Need I go on ? I predicted all of this last season , the sad thing is a lot of other Fans now realise it is true , too late now to ' give them time ' , we did and we got relagated.

So ........ ' Taxi for Burley ' ? not just yet , I am in a queue behind Gary Fawcett and
the March Brothers....... please take the Blinkers off and look around you.

I'll just put it back out there, Lawkholme Len is always asking for help to tidy the ground up.

Hello Trouble! wrote:I'll just put it back out there, Lawkholme Len is always asking for help to tidy the ground up.

Yes Hello Trouble he has , and kudos to him , Top Bloke.
I am a tad limited to what I can do due to an injury 6 year ago and live over in Burley in Wharfedale BUT if there is a session on a day I am ok to drive over I will
be there , some days are good some days are bad due to Fentanyl opioids side effects so I don't know how I will be from one day to another , if I am up to it then I'll be there. Anyone else gonna go down and help ?

To raise another point for Gary Fawcett , I understand that people who claim Income support over a certain length of time have to now ' work for their benefit ' a set amount of hours a week , I'm sure I heard that but could be wrong as I've never claimed it being self employed all my life up to six years ago , is it not worth looking into that ? A small team would soon get a lot of the problems sorted out.

Mixed feelings about the game, much improved defence but poor ball retention. We allowed them easy ball to build pressure and the only positive from that is it gave the defence a work out.

We need to maintain better completion to allow US to build pressure, I stopped counting at six "knock ons" and was disappointed the Ref didn't ping them more for ripping. I don't like bagging refs but he was royally conned on occasion.

We are still waiting for the best 17 to step up to the plate and I still think we are going to improve.

On a side note, it's obvious someone has been doing work on the ground, the hoardings at the garage end have been fixed ( it's a good job, they were a real H&S liability) the terraces gave been tidied up and the pitch looked good having been freshly rolled.

Garry Schofield as speaker was interesting (even though he fell off the stage). He's a controversial character and not afraid to express himself ( right or wrong). I understand he is going to speak at every match so that could be "colourful".

I agree with the praise for the ball boys and girls, especially in those conditions.

I still remain hopeful that we can do it when it really matters but In all reality the club need to get its collective act together or we are in for a long hard season.

I have only been wrong once and thats because I thought I was wrong but I was wrong I was right!

Petty authoritarians aren’t man enough to challenge the actions of a person face to face; instead they incite a forum of rumour, innuendo and half truths, and impose rude sanctions to discourage those who dare question fairness.

Anon.

Aye, me. I live near Sunderland but if I can get down to the ground to help, I will. All this doom and gloom is getting me down!

We are from Keighley. We are NOT Bradfordians.
