Well now that the dust is starting to settle and were looking like a CH1 side what are your thoughts on 2014? For me I actually feel as though the team was decent in parts but blew it right at the end. North Wales sticks in my mind as a game changer. We have to remember any other season we would have been well clear of going down. We won some very good games, Workington away sticks in my mind and was funny at the end. All in all we should have got that extra point but that is life. The March ban also did not help, I don't remember such a harsh punishement coming out for other players/coaches! Maybe we were been set up all along to go down and we just didn't know it. ![]() Least we can go into next season with our dignity intact the same can not be said about others. Cougars |

I think we've already done this to death. The important thing now is that both coaching team and players learn lessons for next year: If we approach games in a half arsed way we will find ourselves too far behind to catch up in the second half. If we switch off 10 mins before the end we will concede match loosing points ( no bonus points next year). If certain players don't keep fit, they'll leave holes in the defence. It isn't rocket science, but we found it hard to understand last year. All the good performances and effort were negated by the above. |

Accurate as always Dreamer. However imho the most critical single part of "the coaching team and players" seems over the years to have shown no ability to learn from the past. As for the person(s) running the club they seem to have the same problem. I seem to recall seeing a glimpse of a mathematical analysis of last season by our Chairman as to why our Coach has done such a wonderful job for us. The phrase Mark Twain is credited with having coined, "Lies, damned lies, and statistics" springs to mind. |

I just hope the club can survive this next season financially , Gates , bar takings etc etc will all be down quite a bit as quite a few of The Ch 1 clubs have very little away support. Ypu're just all gonna drink more on matchdays |

FWIW Sheffield are leaving Owlerton Stadium because "However, the venue does not meet new Rugby Football League ground regulations which include floodlights and a minimum of 1,500 permanent seats." Where does that leave an awful lot of clubs, and if it is to be applied to the Championship and the Cougars win promotion then could they be denied because I doubt if the stand at Cougar park can hold that many and I know that York, ,Oldham and Hemel definitely cannot. We live in interesting times regarding Rugby League but for me the future does not look bright. The other code is beating RL hands down at every level. |

Union is beating no one at any level, what are you talking about? |

guess who wrote:They are way in front of us on the international level. They are also way ahead in the tv and media. Poss International level. I seen a game on sky other week and ground they were playing at looked like Sedgley Park. Turned it off after 5 mins and don't remember seeing another game since. Media big up union but its in no way any better shape IMO, down south you get bigger sponsors so thats how can afford bigger wages. Super league is on a par with their top league. |
