Five - yes FIVE - tries for Gav Duffy playing on loan with Hunslet today. Hope he is coming back here next season. Am I right in thinking next season is his testamonial season For the Cougars ? |

We might need players like Gavin next year. Players that can show loyalty and passion in the same way Shick did. Looks like we are loosing half of the existing squad. |

I suppose logically thinking , any player whoever it is would not want to drop down a division and a drop down in pay. When money and career are involved loyalty does not always show its face. Such a sad situation that could have been so easily avoided. ![]() |

It's understandable that when a players terms and conditions might change they will look at the best for themselves. Rugby is a short career not without risk of injury and they deserve fair reward. There is however, a school of thought that says a "real" team would want to stick together to put right what they have made a pigs ear of (I actually wanted to put something much stronger but the swear filter changed it) |

On a positive note, this can be a chance for other members of the team to step up. There are plenty of youth/reserve players who I do not feel have been given a good chance. The first team players should always feel that they are on their toes. The performance of the reserve players against Widnes was impressive. I thought Ben Stead played well for example. Has he even played a match since? |

Plenty of young lads with a massive hunger to take the step up for this club , Patchett , Kelly , Ecclestone n Stead are the most likely but others to follow Liam Darville. , half back turned full back with a great rugby brain , Andy Gabriel .young un with pace to burn , think Lee Maples without the history ...Tom Courtney , back from an horrendous double fracture of his leg / ankle at Fax this year , front rower with a bit of 'mongrel ' , doesnt give a poop who who he upsets ..Chris Watson .. 18 year old second rower.. local Consistent , hard working and talented second rower , Cas already on his radar ![]() That's just a snapshot , lads of 16 /. 17 year olds already making an impression in the 20s , Luke Moorby , Dan Connell ,Alfie Seeley , Taylor Stott, Jack Kennedy ... Half that team @ Widnes were Keighley home produced ..not many clubs can do that at our level ....time to make the most of it |

I liked hearing that Rach. The complete opposite to DR. Exactly how I hope Cougars stay. |
