Post subject:  what if.......

I know we will rediscover our form and thump Fev, and Batley will get stuffed, but what if fate is against us? In which case how can I survive and leave the terraces on Sunday with positive thoughts rather than feeling like sh&t for months? This is my top 10 survival guide of positive thoughts:

1. There will presumbaly have a to be bit of a clear out of players (Burley could set up taxi company to take them away) but that would give an opportunty for younger players who are keen and have potential.
2. We will probably win more games than we will if we stay up.
3. We will have something to play for at the end of the season.
4. We wont get stuffed by Dulls as we wont be playing them. Ditto Fax, Leigh, etc.
5. I like quite a lot of the teams we would be playing and their supporters.
6. I can carry on blaming the rfl for everything, including the middle east crisis.
7. I wont be worrying about relegation all season.
8. I will be able to find out where Hemel actually is.
9. We could set up DR with Batley as we will be in a different divison. Leatherbarrow?
10. One day wake up and find it was all a dream.

Obviously I began to scrape the barrel a bit but nevertheless going down wouldn't be the end of the world - that's what I am trying to tell myself.

Firstly, I am pretty shocked at our own inability to save ourselves. We should have been safe long ago and even the last two games were winnable.

Secondly, the club are going to have to find a way to survive at this level, and that's even before they think about fielding a side that is capable of promotion.

Having said that, I will continue to support the team and will be interested to visit the newbies. It's also a good excuse for a few long weekends especially in London. I also enjoyed the trip to South Wales in the past.

It's going to be a case of making the most out of something that never should have happened, will others feel the same way?

Why did I find myself chuckling like a mad man at these two?

I think the reality is possibly hitting home for me that the RFL are pretty much going to allow the past offences to remain unpunished. Still, In classic Keighley style we have bottled it and are on a rubbish form streak. We could have easily been safe by now and we can only blame ourselves for that. The DR scandal however has humiliated the game and I was of that mindset guess who, But i have thought about it some more....

We will not likely do very well in Championship next year, especially without any decent investment. Do we really want to witness Bradford, Leigh, Halifax, London, Featherstone thrash us twice? Im not sure I do. Also do we want to witness a load of cheating duel reg teams beat us twice?

Whilst its far less money and a missed opportunity etc etc, at least we might win a few next year in Championship 1. We'd certainly be able to attract the best players in the league you would hope, also we would have a strong youth team who will get their opportunities.

I still think Batley are getting relegated, we get a point against Fev and they lose. But if we get relegated, so be it.

I cant be ar*ed wasting my energy anymore thinking about what could have happened. The game afterall is a joke at the moment

I enjoy supporting Keighley and enjoy the whole social occasion, not just the sporting contest.

Whilst the Batley situation makes me feel disgusted and let down by the RFL, I don't feel like stopping watching Keighley.

I remember Stevo and Eddie completely roasting us over not fielding the strongest team we could have against Widnes. Bringing the game into disrepute, laughing stock etc etc blah blah blah. they even went as far as to say we shouldn't be allowed to play in the cup next year.

Even though we had to play 4 games in 9 days and had no real hope of beating them.

Hopefully he now has seen what bringing the game into disrepute is....that would be cheating with ineligible players. I wonder if he has suggested Batley, Doncaster and the other offenders should be banned from Championship next year?

Not that anyone give a to*s what he says anyway. 'Im with you Eddie'

Over half that side against Widnes were home produced through the Youth Development systems put in place initially by Rammy and Matt Foster , and carried through by Jez, Dean Muir , Tom Hall and the other Scholarship Coaching Staff .

If we do end up going down at least we have that to fall back on , we'd be even further in the mire if not...

I fully see where your coming from. But i am thinking what is the point.

Batley and Donny have not been punished. In fact we have. Its like we have had 3 points taken of us.
