Morning Campers ,
A few folk on the board have been asking about the Clubs reaction / viewpoint regarding the RFL's appeals decision for Batley and Donny.
Gary's given us the following statement regarding this issue . It reads
'In terms of the Batley and Doncaster rule infringement I am currently seeking clarification from the RFL whether or not both teams were punished at all for breaking the rule. The PR that was put out was inconclusive and seems to suggest that no sanction was applied.
Obviously, in the light of general acceptance that they did break the rules I would have anticipated some form of punishment or else there would be no point in having the rule if it can't be enforced."

Thanks Rach and thanks to Gary for that - sums it up nicely and shows how ridiculous it all is. I suspect the rfl will just say that they will be evaluating DR at end of season.

"Seeking clarification" isn't going to have either Batley or the RFL quaking in their boots. Is the chairman going to vigorously pursue a claim for compensation?

Surely the club will have a more robust response in preparation; notwithstanding the fact that we should have made ourselves safe on the pitch weeks ago, we have been right royally shafted.

I talked to Gary after the match yesterday. The first approach to the RFL has been fobbed off so the club are gathering the "actual" information surrounding the incidents this year and last. They also have the services of a lawyer.
It isn't over yet!!! Batley stand on very shakey ground!
I have only been wrong once and thats because I thought I was wrong but I was wrong I was right!
Petty authoritarians aren’t man enough to challenge the actions of a person face to face; instead they incite a forum of rumour, innuendo and half truths, and impose rude sanctions to discourage those who dare question fairness.

May aswell give it a go. At best the club will get some extra cash but I doubt it.
Very disappointing reading some Batley fan posts on Total RL. All very defensive and 'we've done nothing wrong'. At least they stayed up by a fair couple of wins last two games.
Of course we are never without controversy. I do think the situation is unfair and I do think we have a case that's worth perusing. Batley thought they may aswell appeal and it got them safety from relegation.
Good luck to whoever is trawling through the evidence.
