According to the T and A Marchy has signed a new 2 year contract.
I think this is the right way to go for the club and good that its been sorted earlier rather than later so now as well as making sure we are safe this season he can also start sorting the team out for next year. I know some people still have their doubts about him but I dont think you can deny that the squad is stronger this year than last, and if he can build on that then the club is moving in the right direction.
Great news. The thing about March's Cougar squad is that they are all flipping good rugby players but there are are no prima donnas. They all work very hard to make themselves the very best they can be and just as important they all want to pull together to make this Cougar team the best it can be. If any new players are signed they really have to add something but also buy into this fantastic Cougar attitude. Team + fans together for success.
At times, Paul has received perhaps deserved criticism. However, he has persevered, got the players he wants and got them playing the way he wants. We now have at team capable of playing flowing attacking rugby and also "gritting" it out. We still have the problem of "switching off" in defence, too many penalties and unforced errors, but Keighley coaches have had these issues to deal with since the "good old days".
As a bonus he is also one of the best players we have (when fit).
On balance, a good re-signing.
I have only been wrong once and thats because I thought I was wrong but I was wrong I was right!
Petty authoritarians aren’t man enough to challenge the actions of a person face to face; instead they incite a forum of rumour, innuendo and half truths, and impose rude sanctions to discourage those who dare question fairness.
I would consider the 2014 squad to be better than the 2012 squad which was full of former Superleague players. Marchy has got the key elements into the team and got the whole team ticking. Also to turn around in one week a team which was"gutted" after the Batley game into the one which played Sheffield off the park was amazing. Not the final product yet perhaps but getting there.

Completely agree with you LL, I have made reference to the 2012 team v today's cougars many times, we are most definitely a better and more capable team now
