Is it just me or seriously is the Fev saga getting so long winded its getting ridiculous ... Who's signed , who hasn't signed , another press conference here that says nowt , another press conference that says we are having another press conference to announce that the last press conference didn't really say anything more than the first press conference did but the next one will be more interesting than the first two , but that what has been said is far more interesting anyway to no one but majority shareholder Feisal Nahabo.... Loved what Fev did a couple of years ago , great team great supporters and a local off field team that were developed through a love of rugby league and an ethos of promoting from within and developing those already committed to the Fev Cause,a model for any Community based Championship side aspiring to greater heights .... Seriously now just taking the Michael ...a massive ego trip for one deluded owner thats bound to end in tears ( see Cas , Fax , Wigan for details) |

There certainly seem to be some very odd "goings on" at fev, who have gone from building steadily with firm foundations to throwing cash at it to get a quick fix. Nahabooboo seems to work on the philosophy that no publicity is bad publicity theme - and he may be right, but is now moving from the aggressively ambitious category to the narcissistically insane. I believe he has some rich Indian buddies who, it's rumoured, want to invest. They may well want a plaything that's cheaper than football and if they get in SL they will also get on TV with cheap advertising, self publicity etc. However, they are also the sort of people who don't mess about; if they get bored or miffed off they will cut and run leaving fev in the lurch. Fev do own land around the ground but I'm not sure how much or what it's worth in a place like fev or whether it's enough to attract investors. I've no problem or jealousy for small clubs making good but it is all very strange. Just hope they don't end up hurt by it. |
