For those who like to read about the greatest game, there is now a decent selection of books on sale in the club shop, good enough to start reading on the coach to Widnes, or on holiday this summer or to give as a Father's Day present in early June. They include: Heading For The Line (A Fan's Guide to the grounds of all the professional and semi professional clubs, National Conference League clubs, international venues and the NRL) Cougars Going Up (The club 2003 Yearbook, including a chapter on A Decade in Profile 1900 - 1910, the club's first decade written by the late Eric Lund and David Kirkley)) In Full Bloem (The biography of Jamie Bloem) Soldier's League (Rugby League in the British Army) A Welshman In Halifax (The biography of Garfield Owen) Braver Than All The Rest (A novel based on a mother's fight to give her rugby league loving disabled son a decent life) Rugby Football: A Game United (A novel based on the what might have happened if the Northern clubs had been in the majority in 1895) Two Seasons (A novel set during the 2002 and 2003 seasons against a background of work, family, old friends and rugby leage; more details see below) |
