Surprised no-one has posted any opinions on this match yet. I don't think the final scoreline was entirely unexpected but I thought the effort put in by our lads was first class for the entire 80 minutes, we're just not quite at the same level as Featherstone who, without doubt, are a class act - they played some great stuff. Mind you, so did we - as some of the Fev posters acknowledge on their own forum. I thought everything was going fairly well until we conceded Fev's second try after losing the ball from our own scrum just in front of our line. After that our defending was none too good in that period when they ran in three tries in quick succession. The lads kept battling though and the contest was great to watch. Although we are still losing to those teams above us, I do feel that we are definitely more competitive this season and it can't be that long before we actually turn one of these teams over - Dewsbury perhaps in a couple of weeks. I certainly hope so. Overall I enjoyed my first visit to Featherstone for many years, it seems a good club with a great local support. I'm just a little bit worried about the number of injuries we are picking up. Hope Elliott Cosgrove in particular is recovering well. |
