Post subject:  Batley game
Thought the team did great to stop Batley running away with it down the slope and we desrved that point. If we had just controlled it a bit more in first half a win would definitely have been on the cards. A point or better v. fev and we should hang on to 8th spot before we get some weaker teams?

Thought the ref bottled it in the 2nd half. Thought someone should have been off for the trip on Fanny Jones (I think) after his chip through in the second half. 3 times the kicker was taken out after the ball had gone.

Batley were there for the taking in the first half. We missed a trick there. But, well done lads for fighting back and getting the point. Was talking to a group of Batley fans, very nice folk, and they said the team prefer playing up hill!!! They were being serious. Strange.

I had to check to make sure that the D and the F are next to each other on the keyboard :D I didn't make the game today but I understand that Batley were there for the taking. Although I'm certain that we are better than we were last season (and I appreciate it's still early days), the same trend seems to be emerging whereby we are capable of beating the teams who lie below us in the league but we lose to those teams who are above us. That was certainly true last season when I think 'Haven were the highest placed team we actually beat. It would be nice if we could achieve a win against the likes of Fax, Dewsbury etc. We've already lost to Donny, Leigh, Eagles & Batley. Perhaps we could make a start at Fev on Friday when I will be back on the terraces to support the red, green and white. Come on COOOUUUGAAARS!
