Plans to be submitted to Bfd council before xmas.
The scheme will be in 9 stages over 5 years.

Reported in the Keighley news. No link of there website yet.

Plan is to use the existing stand as the base and up date it.

Funding to come from grants, loans and from public donations.

Logistically what are we going to do while old stand is demolished? Will be interested to read the plans. We certainly need to keep up with what many clubs are doing and upgrading the supporter facilities. The present stand dates from 1935 and we need something for the 21st century.

There is no doubt that something needs to be done to improve the main stand and other spectator facilities, but this has to be done without selling our soul to the devil.

Some clubs have obtained money with strings, indeed steel cables attached. Anything that means we loose absolute control over gate takings, bar takings use of the facilities etc will just lead to long term ruin. A large debt around our necks would do the same.

Petty authoritarians aren’t man enough to challenge the actions of a person face to face; instead they incite a forum of rumour, innuendo and half truths, and impose rude sanctions to discourage those who dare question fairness.

To say i am stunned by the lack of comments is a understatement.
People seem quick enough to slag the club/chairman of.

We now have a chairman who is trying to improve what we have had to put up with for years.

Good luck Gary and i really hope it comes of.

I agree Guess Who! According to the report an impressive amount of support for this already - hope it can be turned into hard cash. Fair play it sounds like a lot of hard work has been going on behind the scenes.

It's obvious that there are posters who have an axe to grind about some at the club. They could be right, for all I know, but it does get a bit wearying.

I hope the BoD manage to get us improved facilities, but not at any cost, they have to balance progress with sustainability. Batley seem to be a good example of a club who have managed to do this - lets hope we can do the same.

To be fair they are not the first BoD to try this and whilst at the moment it is only paper dreams, I for one hope they succeed.

My other half took some time out at one of our U20's fixtures against one of our close rivals in our division to engage in communication with one of the opposition directors .

He was rueing the fact that his team despite having a brand new stadium was suffering , not just through the loss of bar income , but the fact that opposition and more importantly home fans were staying away both prior and post match because of the facilities / service /bar prices /lack of consistency in staff offered by the Stadium Management Company ....that was impacting in the amount that the SMA was demanding ...

Compare that to another certain Championship Club who's ground and facilities have expanded considerably over the years but the Clubs ideal has not been to let go of the people who have done their jobs for years but upskill them and equip them with the knowledge and understanding to enable them to deal with the increased usage,...keep the same staff....work with the Club management flexibly ..

............. tell me which model really works ...
