Not meaning to disrespect the country's that do the Haka. But do you think it would be a good thing if Keighley were to do they own version. It could be done by the team before a game. The fans could join in as well. Talk about getting people up for the up coming game. |

Sorry Jim but you effectively answered your own question in your first sentence.... You've only got to watch the intensity ,seriousness and National Pride that the the Kiwi / Oceanic Island Teams put into their own National 'Haka's' to see how ridiculous and downright disrespectful that suggestion is . Having your Junior rugby teams doing such a thing is one thing (I've no doubt in light of the World cup every U8's mini RL side up and down the Country has this week recreated their own War dance ) but to suggest an Adult Championship team do the same is just a non starter .... |

I was at the game and the Haka was impressive from both sides. I would also take any player on the park at Keighley. Great game and the pace of it was unreal. Did we have any scouts there |

As Rach has posted, the Haka is traditional to the respective Countries and I'm not sure is something that can be just recreated for commercial reasons or viewing figures. It clearly means a great deal to the players and you just have to look at Isaac Luke from NZ to see the effort that goes into it. As an idea, it's not something I think needs any further consideration, however, Jim clearly sees that there is a need/opportunity for the club to do something innovative to get things moving. I have to say I fully agree. The Haka isn't it for me, but I do think the club needs to do something (ideas on a postcard!) that puts it back in the national press. In Cougarmania V1 kids were taken to Wembley and we hit the news for the right reasons. I just get the feeling the club is plodding on rather than really backing up the SL claims with eye opening PR/innovation. |

What's wrong with 'The Cougar Crawl' when we win a game? It always gets a great response from the crowd. |
