If we were to go back into the DR thing, they wouldn't make a bad connection for us, the whole JD thing and all that. Not saying we should, just that we do have some link to them.
Oh, and I love their shirts!

Yes, they would have been a better choice than carpy Cas.....

I.m.o. The whole DR should be scrapped , turned out to be a total
shambles for Hunslet , they relied on it heavily and got nothing but relegation.
Let the SL clubs sort out thier own player problems.

Wakey are in financial trouble and their future is far from certain. I think a figure of around £500K deficit has been talked about. I'm not convinced by the whole DR thing. The final league table would tend to suggest those teams that used it did less well than those that went it alone.

If we were to explore that avenue I would like us to look wider than super league and maybe a NRL feeder would be a innovative idea worthy of further work/consideration. We have some many similarities with the Rabbitohs.

D/R has to stop.
It isnt good for the game. It isnt good for teams outside of SL.
The only teams to benefit from it are teams in SL.

The whole thing has caused a unfair balance in the league.

Great idea! Cougars have always been about "thinking outside the box" when we were great so why not explore this route? Obviously players would have to come longer than a game or two but young second grade Aussie players would benefit from the experience as would some of our young lads over there. Bonzer idea!

You say that, but in reality it hasn't. The teams that used it the most finished near enough the bottom, or got relegated. Those teams that stayed away in the main (Fev and Sheffield) were top 2. I think it's a lesson that whilst you may have some "big" names in for a week or the two, the knock on effects are clear.

DR is solely to benefit the "fringe" players in SL who are not getting a game. IMO a link up with a NRL team would give us much more than some young Aussie's who fancy trying their hand in the English game. Cherryholme and HALEY both went to Oz this year so it could work, however, I think clubs could benefit in many other ways such as off field stuff. Sharing best practice in marketing, coaching methods and ideas etc. May not be viable financially, but certainly worth a look at.

Good point. On the odd occasion to give SL players a run out to aid fitness. I assume you mean BRIERS? I think they played one game each. In the main, I think you get my point.
